Emmanuelle Rossum was born on September 12th, 1986 in New York. She grew up like a Manhattan girl and at age of 6 she started singing at Metropolitan Opera. As she matured, she grew out at the Metropolitan Opera and then she decided to pursue acting.
Her made her debut television of "Law & Order" in 1997 and the following year, appeared in two disney movies "Genius" and "Grace & Glorie".
She received a Young Artist Award nomination in 1999, after that she got the role for ABC Family's movie The Audrey Hepburn Story.
Her big role was in Clint Eastwood's movie "Mystic River" along with Sean Penn. The the important roles had't stopped to appear. She got the main role in "The Phantom of the Opera" for what she was nominated at Golden Globe. In the same year, 2004, she got another important role in "The Day After Tomorrow" along with Jake Gyllenhaal.
